Foton Motor has achieved a global production and sales volume of 11 million vehicles, setting a new record and leading the industry in terms of speed.

  In 2023, as the market environment recovered, the production and sales of commercial vehicles continued to surge. As the top brand of commercial vehicles in China, Foton Motor also witnessed a historic moment. On April 13th, the Foton Motor Group's 2023 Global Collaborators Conference was grandly held in Beijing, with the theme of "All Rivers Flow to the Sea and Share Globalization (Together Win the Future)". At the conference, the 11th millionth vehicle of Foton Motor was successfully delivered, marking a milestone event in the Chinese commercial vehicle industry. While setting a new record in global commercial vehicles, Foton Motor announced and explained its global strategic layout for the next three years, and set an action target of 150,000 overseas sales by 2025. In addition, the new-generation pickup truck TUNLAND V of Foton Motor was also unveiled and released at this conference. The new product will further enrich Foton Motor's overseas product line and help Foton's globalization strategy to be further implemented!

  Since 2004, Foton Motor has regarded the internationalization strategy as one of its core development strategies. Through years of global strategic planning and in-depth market penetration, Foton Motor has continuously made breakthrough progress in strategic markets such as Europe and Thailand. Through years of efforts, Foton Motor has also become a strong brand of commercial vehicles in multiple regional markets including Chile, Colombia and the Philippines.

   At this global innovators conference, Chang Rui, the chairman of Foton Motor Group, presented the global development strategy and capability building system of Foton Motor in five key aspects. 

  First, Foton Motor has established a global development advantage, achieved comprehensive development of commercial vehicles, made forward-looking arrangements for the new energy business, and built a mature overseas business system and team. Second, in terms of business and market strategy, Foton will continue to leverage its global leading advantages in light trucks and Japanese-style vans, while ensuring the advantages in Southeast Asia and Latin America, and comprehensively expanding the African market and breaking through the European market. Third, establish a global R&D system. Fourth, comprehensively enhance the global supply chain system capabilities. Establish overseas K-D factories in China and build an international logistics system. Through joint ventures and cooperation with international logistics companies, establish its own international logistics transportation capabilities, shorten the delivery cycle, and improve delivery efficiency. Fifth, deeply study the overseas financial demands. 

  On the path of internationalization, over the years, Foton Motor has consistently adopted both the "bringing in" and "going out" approaches. By collaborating with global leaders in commercial vehicle complete vehicles and core components, such as Daimler, Cummins, ZF, Bosch, and Meritor, it has established an alliance cooperation system featuring "complete vehicle + components + ecological operation". It has also launched commercial vehicle cooperation projects with regional strong brands like Piaggio of Italy and Charoen Pokphand of Thailand, continuously expanding its business horizontally and cultivating sustainable competitiveness to support the implementation of Foton Motor's internationalization strategy.

  In the future, Foton Motor will continue to accelerate its local market expansion in overseas markets through dual-drive models of 'traditional energy + new energy' and upgrading of international cooperation models. Foton Motor Group Vice President Ma Rentao reviewed the achievements of Foton Motor's international cooperation and provided a detailed explanation of the upgrade of the international cooperation model. "Foton Motor will adopt a dual approach of equity investment and non-equity investment. In the equity investment aspect, it will continuously expand investment paths based on the existing joint ventures and new establishments, leveraging Foton's advantageous resources to achieve chain and growth; in the non-equity investment aspect, it will consider deepening market and manufacturing license operation depth to empower partner industrialization development. In terms of market planning, Foton will give priority to markets such as Europe and Thailand where cooperation has already been carried out, and adhere to strategic investment to achieve further business breakthroughs; in strategic markets such as Brazil, Mexico, and Indonesia, it will seek strategic partners and explore in-depth cooperation; in markets such as Chile, Colombia, and the Philippines, it will continue to strengthen its advantageous position." 

  In 2022, China's auto exports exceeded 3 million units for the first time, surpassing Germany and becoming the second-largest global auto exporter. Among them, China's commercial vehicle exports reached 580,000 units, and Foton Motors exported 88,000 units. This achievement can be described as "a new high for Chinese brands and a new starting point for Foton Motors".
